Mauve Ameraucana
These are my new superlayers this year. Last year, I individually pair mated 3 hens and generally got 6-7 eggs per week with them. So impressed! They did take a two month break to molt of course but love the wonderful eggs from these. They are absolutely stunning in a large group, photos just don’t do them justice. My eyes are drawn to them and I double take every time I see them! They are great foragers and love to be outside all of the time if they can. Mauve over mauve will result in 50% mauve, 25% chocolate and 25% mauve chocolate splash offspring.
Nature: Quiet, docile, do well enclosed and free range, sweet and friendly
