Isabel Ameraucana
Isabel Ameraucana are some of our most inquisitive sweet birds. They started off as a covid project from our lavender/wheaten pen. Since there is a limited genetic pool of them here in Canada, I spent a few years working with my own line and splits to improve their size and ameraucana traits. I find ameraucana to be tough and I love their shell color. Hens weigh 5 pounds and males weigh 6 pounds. They lay a decent amount of sky blue eggs and they are fairly quiet birds.
Ameraucana can tolerate a wide range of climates and are suited to the cold with their pea combs. They have lovely beards and muffs. I find them to be friendly, inquisitive and great foragers. Males are strong protectors of their flocks making sure everyone is alerted at any sign of danger. I have rarely had an ameraucana that was aggressive to our family. We also raise ameraucana in mauve, chocolate splash, blue, black, splash and chocolate.
As of January 2026 the pen is 100% isabel and I also have a separate Isabel/split wheaten pen that I have for myself this year. Please text me if you are interested in any as I don’t have them listed. I tend to breed in wheaten couple years.
