Breda Fowl are a Dutch breed also known as Kraaikop which means crow’s head. They have an upright posture, and a wide prominent chest. They have cavernous nostrils without a comb so they look like their prehistoric ancestors. They have a gentle, friendly nature and are easy to maintain. They should be housed with docile and calm roommates as they are rather timid. Males weigh about 6 pounds and hens weigh about 5 pounds. We added ours to the farm in 2020 and we are glad we did! This breed is great for Canadian winters with their warm feet and absence of a comb. These elegant birds are great foragers but they do like to hang out inside often I find. They come in blue, black and splash.
